Lazaro Cardenas

In Lazaro Cardenas, the varied landscape lends itself to extreme sports and ecotourism. This region is an excellent alternative for relaxation on the beautiful Michoacán coast. The main attractions are the beaches of Maruata, the Bucerías Lighthouse, the Estero de Pichi and the Mexcala Lagoon.

Surfing is best at La Ticla and Nexpa beaches. The conditions are exceptional for surfing since the surges are consistently about 2 or 3 meters high. The waves are considered safe for beginners. Playa Azul is another great beach for surfing.

San Juan de Alima is another beach near San Telmo Point that has a lot of vegetation, exotic birds and a tranquil atmosphere.
